The following is the first chapter in the events of Code: Dread.

The Pinnacle - Level 195

Aliso City

37 ABY

Back at her desk, Ronovi was getting the latest breakdown of clan activity before the upcoming onslaught. TuQ’uan sat across from her, eyeing the bottle of Whyren’s Reserve which contents were slowly but surely depleting throughout the meeting. Behind him stood Cyvarria Ranin, Admiral of the Ascendant Fleet, and Owen Serrus, Captain of the Ascendancy. Both of them still wore battle scars from the explosion during the siege of the Thuvis Shipyards, Serrus specifically wearing an eyepatch as his left eye attempted to recover its shape and vision.

The four were going over the latest assets of the Ascendant Fleet and deciding where to send them in this latest skirmish. Kel Zar’s fleet could be handled by Khryso and a handful of Besh Task Force squadrons - nothing heavy needed to be there to take that on. However, the Dread Lord knew full well of other splinter cells from the Collective patrolling the Unknown Regions. Therefore, they had to be mindful of their allotment.

“The Wrath can head a few squadrons to the north of the system,” TuQ’uan opined. “I can command that. As for the Termagant, its ships can be allocated to multiple areas. There are some gravity wells we can draw ships to, to trap them and keep them from launching into hyperspace.”

“I’d be careful,” warned Ranin. “Our ships are equally vulnerable.”

“What about the Ascendancy?” Serrus asked. “Does she stay home?”

“She’ll maintain a moderate defensive line near the Anchorage, yes,” Ronovi replied. “We don’t want to send every ship we have out. That leaves us open for attack if we’ve missed anybody.”

TuQ’uan’s eyes crinkled in a smile above his respirator. “But we’re certainly going to clean them up in this city, aren’t we?”

Ronovi nodded simply. Wrathus and Tahiri had taken charge of the “enforcement” prong of the campaign - as in, they and others who had decided not to fly out for battle would take out enemies in Aliso City itself. Anyone who questioned the planet’s governance would be taken in and interrogated; given many Plagueians’ reputations for torture, the Epicanthix knew that it would not be pretty.

Feeling comfortable with the set-up, she stood up and beckoned TuQ’uan, Ranin, and Serrus to leave. “Enough chatting for now. You have ships to man and pilots to command. Varick, Ranin, Serrus - I’m counting on you.”

Once they were gone, Ronovi sat back down, picking up the whiskey bottle and draining it of its innards. As soon as the room began to tilt, she knew she was finally where she wanted to be mentally.

Let’s murder some Collective scum.

Welcome one and all to the third edition of “That Pesky Proconsul” with your host, TuQ’uan Varick!! This report is going to be short and sweet, but first I want to welcome our newest Plagueian, Vaeril Aeraeth A.K.A. Kris to the team and congratulate everyone on their new shinnies which your Quaestors have or will go into more details on!

Now let’s jump right in.

What’s Going On?

First of all I want to congratulate everyone again on a War well fought. I hope everyone has had enough time to decompress with a few of our members organized competitions and enjoyed your time in the Plagueian Playground courtesy of Ranarr. But the time for rest and relaxation is OVER!

Starting just a few short hours from the typing of this report (site reset on the 29th A.K.A. September 29th at 8 pm EST) the Dread Lord is tired of constantly being on the defensive side of things and has a new orders for the clan entitled Code: Dread.

Code: Dread will be a three week long team V team event where Plagueis takes the fight to the Collective. The other night Ronovi and I hosted a skype call where we drew names randomly from hats (everybody loves hats!) and picked the members of each team. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Ronovi’s post about that yet you can find it here, in it you will find all of the details as to how we picked the teams as well as the video of the team selection! For quick reference, I will list the teams below along with the team names and the team theme songs as chosen by their captains.

We have also created Telegram chats for each team, and done our best to try and add all of the members to their respective channels but if for some reason you did not get the invite to your team channel PLEASE message either myself or Ronovi and will we add you as soon as we are able. The telegram channels are a place to check in with your teammates, get someone to proofread an entry and be positive and encouraging to your fellow teammates!

There will be 7 events per week as well as an event long fiction, some of the competitions are designed for individual entries, some for team based entries and some where you will work with a member of the opposing team! Because Ronovi and I are not only organizing the competitions, but also the captains of the two competing teams and in the spirit of fairplay, neither of us will be competing in any of the competitions and we have brought in Atra as an outside judge to help us with the more subjective comps!

• [Code: Dread] They Just Can’t Get My Nose Right! - A competition where you get to create a (not necessarily accurate) collective dossier on a member of Plagueis.
  
• [Code: Dread] Tall Tales - Pick a member of the OPPOSITE team and write a limerick about their character.
  
• [Code: Dread] Fragmented Memories - Complete the puzzle as quickly as you can.
  
• [Code: Dread] Making Contact - Decipher the intercepted transmission as fast as possible.
  
• [Code: Dread] Person of Interest - Learn more about the enemy by building a Character Sheet for a Collective or Principate agen working against the clan.
  
• [Code: Dread] How About Some Pre-Gaming? - Create a comic depicting your team getting ready for battle.

• [Code: Dread] Special Delivery (Week 3) - Deliver as many packages as possible in this mobile game.
  
• [Code Dread] Like and Retweet (Week 3) - Create the twitter feed of a Collective agent currently working against the clan.
  
• [Code: Dread] The More You Know (Week 3) - Show off how much you know about Plagueis in this trivia competition.
  
• [Code: Dread] Battleplan (Week 3) - Show us how you plan on dealing with enemy agents with a Battleplan.
  
• [Code Dread] Plagueis in the House (Week 3) - With your teams victory all but certain, show us how you celebrate!
  
• [Code: Dread] Making Contact 2: Electric Boogaloo (Week 3) - Decrypt the message from the Dread Lord’s Wrath as quickly as possible.
  

Ronovi and I spent quite a bit of time coming up with a series of competitions that we thought would be both unique, fun and challenging for everyone and we are really looking forward to seeing how everyone does with them! Now go do the things!
