Hi everyone!

I bet you know who I am. I'm Locke. I've been here a long time and I'll probably never leave, just like that weed in the sidewalk that you've been trying to get rid of for six months. I've held a bunch of positions. I've done a bunch of stuff.

And now I'm BTL of the Night Hawks.

I can't say I've ever done this. I can't remember holding a BTL position except for a brief stint in a Clan that shall not be named. I'm honored to have this role because this is one of the most legendary teams in CNS and I have some big shoes to fill and big names who came before me.

Of course, those shoes are nothing compared to the size of my own ego. ;)

Enough about me. I want this report to say hello (check), to introduce myself (check), and then to get right into the usual report stuff. I'll list some competitions and go over my philosophy a little.

My Philosophy

I see myself as more of your competition than just a leader. I love a good challenge and I hope you feel the same way. I'm kind of competitive, so I'd like to start our relationship by challenging you to do better than me. I'm going to be entering competitions, writing in Runons, and gaming ( a lot of gaming), and I want to challenge you to face me in the arena of your choice and come out on top.

Don't get me wrong. If you're here for casual reasons, that's cool too. Everything I do and create will be designed with your fun in mind. I just want to put this challenge out there for those of you who like a good challenge: Come at me folks. The way of the dark side is to seize the initiative. Seize on any opportunity to beat me and make yourself look good!

My Focus

Me, me, me. I probably game more than I write these days, but that doesn't mean that all of my competitions will be gaming. I plan to look at what has been successful previously and what people seemed to enjoy entering and placing in and I'll launch competitions based on that. I love feedback and I always welcome it, but I don't expect you to come to me for me to figure out what kind of content to provide. I also like to attach story or a bigger picture to a competition if I can...but I'll probably still run stand alone stuff, like puzzles. I mean, who doesn'tt love puzzles? And if they're for the 'Hawks, you don't have to worry about Malik robotically killing the time. (How does he do it?)

So in conclusion, I like competition and providing enjoyable content. That's what I'm here to provide.

Shout Outs

Well, I'm new here, so I don't know what you all have been up to lately. But, Varuk killed me in the ACC recently, and I think he's currently engaged in a duel with our Proconsul. I hope he wins because A) that'd be awesome since he's a Night Hawk and B) I don't want to live in any world where someone could conjecture that Bentre is a better ACCer than me.

Looks like Muz won A New Dawn, defeating our Aedile and a dude who is now our rival House's Quaestor, so that's awesome.

I look forward to making this section longer as time goes on. I really want to harp on your accomplishments because I want to show the DJB how good this team is. I may have just departed it, but I want to make sure HSD is alert should they face us in any event.

Competitions

I'm not going to list everything here, but I want to talk about some notable stuff going on right now. There's a lot of good competitions out there, but I want to draw attention to a few particular ones.

Varuk is running his Nemesis series. The link there goes to his second one, Shadow Politics. I love that title. It's pretty cool and it's a well thought out fiction about facing one's nemesis. It ends the 30th.

I would probably have the shortest Summit tenure in history if I didn't mention Inferno. Week 2 is active till the 29th. I did week 1 in about two hours, but I'm planning to take week 2 one competition a day, so I can really shoot for some crescents. I don't like to lose, but if its to one of you guys, its like, a win anyway, because we're all family now. I honestly enjoyed the puzzle and fiction last time, and the graphics is always fun to BS. My Week 1 Graphics Entry. It's glorious.

I also just submitted this Runon competition for us called Into the Fire. It's a Runon where we can chronicle our time from right now during Inferno up until later next month, so it will probably end in the middle of another event, where I will probably launch another one. I've identified at least a few of you that I think love writing, + me, + Koji and Armad, and I ran it at House level so they can participate, too. Let's do our best to not let them place in the top 3 now!

I've noticed a lot of fiction competitions out there, and while there are others, there may not be enough. Expect some alternatives from me in the future.

Conclusion

That's about all I want to cover right now. I didn't talk about DC reports and stuff because there are House and Clan Summit reports as well, but I will probably talk about these things in the future. By keeping reports short, I will probably be able to do them more often and stay on top of stuff that's happening. I don't want to miss any neat looking events some random member does for the club, and I don't want you to miss them either.
