Aedile Report

Welcome to that time of the week again folks… report time. Couple quick things to catch us up on here first…

GET TO KNOW A TALLY POLL RESULTS

Well Taldryan, you have spoken, and the next featured member of our Get to Know a Tally special will be none other than our Quaestor RiAn Aslar. If you'd Like to have a question askeD about Rian, how he ticks, or even what his favourite flavour of pie is, feel free to toss me an email at some time, and I'll try to include those in my interview. Also Rian, normally I'll be asking if people are cool with the interviews, but you're the QUA, so you don't get a bloody choice in the matter ;)

DARK CRUSADES CHAPTER 2, PHASE 1 COMPLETE

I think I can say for every member of Taldryan on this one… phew. Those were a couple of amazing weeks, guys. Taldryan stepped up like I haven't seen in a long time, to secure us what will probably be confirmed as the best participation ratio in the Dark Brotherhood. That's something to be proud of everyone. With the split in the forces, it'd be easy to feel like you were left out by not being selected for the A-Team, but you know what? You guys kicked some hard-core ass anyways, and for that I am both truly proud, and vastly grateful. A big round of applause and a pat on the back is deserved by all of Taldryan. So huzzah!

DARK CRUSADES POLL

There is currently a poll being conducted about the Dark Crusades, which is a chance for you to report anonymously to the Dark Council your thoughts and feelings on this momentous undertaking that the Brotherhood is involved in. Remember folks, the DC tries to make sure that every event is designed to ensure you, the member, has the best time they can in this club of ours. It's not an easy job, and it's even harder if they don't know what you're thinking.

Take a couple minutes to fill out the poll here.

RTFR2.0: THE RETURN OF READ THE FUCKING REPORT

The RTFR is a competition I used to run back in the mists of the ancient past that has since been forgotten thanks to the completely unjustified popularity of Jac's JRDC (Jac's Really Dumb Competition) series. Well, I'm back in power, and Jac's busy being perfect. So viva la RTFR! Basically the premise of this competition is simple: hidden in this report there are clues about the location of an image currently hidden somewhere on the DB Wiki, or the DB Forums. Your mission, should you choose to want to get a medal, is to find that image. Happy hunting!

Competition details are here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/competitions/7015

AEDILE'S CORNER

And finally, there's something I wanted to talk to everyone about with all of you. This is especially pressing given the competitive nature of the Dark Crusades as they're going on right now. Taldryan has always been a unit of winners. We’ve always competed hard, and historically have done a really good job of kicking some ass and taking some names.

I'm a fierce competitor myself. I want to win. I want you guys to want to win. I want you to have the same pride in Taldryan, and the same desire to see Taldryan win as I do. But we're in an online star wars fan club essentially, and sometimes, there are other priorities in life. I'm a horribly annoying person to be around when I'm trying to get people to submit to events, and take part in competitions, and to try to get Taldryan to win. That being said, for as many years as I have been in the DB and EH, one simple truth holds: that real life comes first. This is something I truly believe, without exception.

Now, I know I give people a hard time, and I harangue you all about participating. Never think though that I don't respect the fact that we all have lives outside of the DB, and that I'm going to hold it against you for not having the time to compete in a fake internet club. If your life is crazy hectic, or you're dealing with some crap at work, or whatever, that stuff has to come first.

I ask two things though if you're crazy busy, and you have no time to take part? 1. Please forgive me in advance for being a pushy asshole Its who I am, and no force in nature has found a way to change me yet. 2. Let me know. Let someone know. Communication in this place is the most vital thing. If I don't know you're hella busy, all I think is "if I push harder, maybe they'll think they can scrounge one extra entry in!" As much as I like to pretend and as much as the evidence points to the contrary… I'm not perfect. You don't need to tell us any more than you want to, just let us know that you're going to be out of town for a while, or unable to answer emails, etc. That's all.

Anyways, this is overlong as it is, so I'll let you guys get cracking. Rian hit you up with medal and promotion reports on the weekend, so I'll let that slide this week. I'm looking forward to seeing your entries for the RTFR.

And once again Taldryan, thanks for being so fucking Legendary.

Your cranky neighbourhood Aedile,

Dark Jedi Master Keirdagh Taldrya Cantor
